It is with bated breath I sit down to watch the 2014 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. I make an event of it each year for as far back as I can remember.
– Pajamas
– Glasses and Top Knot
– A Bowl of Popcorn
Oh yeah, now I’m ready to watch the most beautiful women on the planet strut down a runway!
I remind myself; I’m nice, I’m beautiful, everybody loves me.
Let me be serious. At 35 I have the confidence and self-awareness to know that these beautiful, skinny freak shows do not have what I have. Stretch marks? A fat ass? Where have you been friends, I have neither.
Yes, Jlee took a break. Yes, Jlee’s back – for now.
But back to #VSFashionShow.
The opening did not disappoint with the bright lights, extravagant costumes and the inside look at the girls who seem surprisingly human and down to Earth.
I was super excited for the performance by Taylor Swift. Love her, hate her; she’s definitely made a name for herself in not only the music world, but also on the pages of US Weekly.
As for other performers, I was interested in seeing Ed Sheeran since I love his new single “Don’t” so I was disappointed when he came out singing some slow garbage. This is the #VS Fashion Show, let’s liven it up with some gin and f*cks, right. Now to wait for Ariana Grande.
Ariana Grande come on stage for Pink University. She’s super cute and has fun songs. I’m not a jealous old woman (Bette Midler) mom who is going to diss her. In fact I still wear Pink clothes, so there.
One thing that got old though was the constant VS commercials. I’m watching your fashion show. Now I’m subjected to all your commercials as well? But, that’s the beauty of DVR.
Some other quick thoughts:
– Amen? What the hell is this song?
– Candice Swanepoel has an amazing bod (due to Pilates, supposedly)!
– There are TWO fantasy bras this year!
The finale was any man’s slumber party fantasy.
All in all my thoughts on this year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show was Meh?! It wasn’t anything we haven’t seen before, and I’d have much preferred a more fresh Victoria’s Secret vibe this year. But, oh well, I’ll still be sitting down next year…with my pajamas, glasses, popcorn and probably ten extra pounds.
